My Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 knocks on the passenger front end when i brake

Asked by roushmus32 Dec 19, 2010 at 11:24 AM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At first when i went to brake there was a little knocking in my front passenger front end. I just drove it down to Florida and the problem is about 10x as bad. I can feel the knocking in the steering wheel and down on my feet but its definitely coming from the passenger front. I thought it might be the back lower control arm but im not 100% sure. It does not knock when you drive but you can kind of feel it when you go to turn on like the interestate (at a higher speed). Has anyone had a problem like this?

the lower balljoints on these cars are notorious for failure. could be thats or severly warped rotors or a seperated tire. have it checked out.
