I had a similar problem with a 2008 E350, whose screen was stuck down. Apparently, the previous owner hadn't used it in several years. I could hear a relay or something clicking, but no motion. With the help of a knowledgeable friend who gently coaxed the shade up while i pushed the switch, it began to work properly and did for several years, until I sold the car. Try a gentle helper to coax the shade down while pushing the switch. If that fails, it could be a fuse (maybe) bad switch (maybe) or blown motor (hope not) In any event, the repair is not terribly expensive and worth the effort

I generally shy away from them, I'm quite happy with the Harmon/Kardon that's installed by the gnomes in Bremen and Osnabrück
