When i try too turn left in my car i can not turn. But i can turn RIGHT

I too once had a car that wouldn't turn left. What I would do is anytime I needed to turn left, I would stop the car, get out and fetch a floor jack and a couple creepers from the trunk. I would jack the front of the car up, slip the creepers under the front wheels, then lower the car back down. Then I would push the front end of the car to point it in the direction I wanted to go. Once properly aimed I would then jack the car back up, retrieve the creepers, lower the car, and put everything back in the trunk, and drive merrily on my way. Granted, this would greatly annoy all the other traffic on the road, but what could I do? Surely, taking it to a mechanic would have been absurd. I managed with this system for many many years.
