Oil Pressure 2000 Suburban
I had a "soft knock" when I started my engine. Was told the old pump was
weak (or possibly failing). Intense labor so I decided to replace the oil
pump, timing chain, all oil related seals to include rear main seal and water
pump (had a coolant leak). Mechanic said it blew the seal he just put in so
replaced the rear main seal Sounds great, run great. No leaks (oil or water)
but mechanic said the oil pressure seems high at idle(45 psi) but normal at
2000 rpm (60 psi). He thinks a spring may be stuck on the new oil pump.
He considers the 45 psi to high and could blow the rear main seal again?
Engine has 287,000 mile on it. Should I be concerned. She runs good and
sounds good! Located in South Florida
