how can i permanently turn off the airbag light in my 2000 Suburban

Air bag light on constantly .  i have had the becm rebulit to kill that light , new
maf for the ck engine...i just want to unplug or drill thru the airbag light ,,,but
black tape may be a first line

Do it right and fix the problem and the light will go off. Why risk your life or the life of a passenger?
