Asked by Jay_Grubb Dec 31, 2016 at 01:55 PM about the 1989 Honda Accord LXi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

During the day I have no problems
at all, but at night when I use the
headlights after about 20 minutes
the battery dies and then I am
stuck where ever im at. What
could be causing this and what do
I need to do to fix it?

I suspect your alternators output is weak but clean and tighten your battery connections before you replace it. Auto parts stores will test your alternator for free.

I agree (alternator) or anything to do with is performance like grounds to frame from engine block and battery and terminal wires bad or corroded, frayed, loose ect.
