Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I own a 1989 Honda Accord lxi and it only starts 25% of the time. I’ve changed everything I could think of
and nothing is helping. I’ve changed: main relay, ignition coil, distributor, spark plug wires, spark plugs,
battery. Please help.

You may have similar problem to my 1991 accord. There is a circuit board up under the dash on the passenger side but nearer to the middle of the dash . Sorry but unsure of its purpose. The solder on that board can crack over time and if it does the car can be hard to start especially if hot. I too tried lots of things to resolve this problem ( my mechanic thought it was a fuel vapour problem ) but once fixed ( was fortunate that we could save the circuit board by simply resoldering over crack which was visible when put up to the sunlight) the car has been faultless ever since. I came across the solution thru someone’s post on the internet under 'Honda accord hard to start once hot'. Hope this helps.
Mate, I've been having trouble with my 94 Honda Accord. I've owned 2 and there are common issues and not so common. I believe the most common issue is the main Fuel Relay, after that is the ignition switch, then there is the ignition coil, less common is the catalytic converter (I don't know much about this issue, just during my research it came up a bit, I will replace mine if my latest fix doesn't stay working) then there is the ECM/ECU whatever the correct term is. Anyway it lives under the passenger side floor mat. Easy to change out for a secondhand one from the recyclers. That's what had fixed mine recently. I did a YouTube to show the path I took. Really hope this helps someone else. https://youtu.be/rU-_tJP3VsE
