Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have an 89 honda accord.  We were driving when the oil light came, then the
battery light when it died.  Have replaced the distributor, cap, and rotor and still
can't get it to start.  It turns over  just doesn't fire off.

Take the distributor cap off then have someone crank the engine while you watch to see if the rotor turns if not it's the belt, unfortunately sometimes the belts slip in which case you have to check timing. Remove the #1 spark plug feel for compression to indicate TDC then check the timing mark on the crank pulley put it on top dead center, now look at the rotor is it pointing to #1 on the cap? If not it's the timing belt. I hope this helps
