battery idicator light came on. Replaced with new battery, checked all related wiring. When I would rev up engine, while in neutral, the light would go off for a few seconds, but then it would re-appear. Now it just wont shut off ???

check ur wiring...its either loose or installation was quick yet defective...i had the same problem before...the handbrake light keeps on flashing when im running...i had the whole wiring setup changed and my alternator replaced...also had starting problems...found out that the positive terminal on my battery was not clipped tightly...
the battery indicator actually means the battery is not charging, not that you need a new battey... try testing the charge coming from the alternator, you might need a new one
what nathan said, check alternator. ur old battery was probably fine. they can check batteries and alternators at autozone
What if you replace your battery and your alternator and the light still goes on
@guru I have same exact problem changed the battery and alternator and still light
