i forgot o mention but i understand i might have to do a swap. im just wondering if anyone makes preformance parts for this engine/or parts from other hondas that will work, and can this engine hold up to a turbo low boosted?
ive heard of people doing low boost (5-7psi) on those motors before, but make sure if ur doing fuel injection to check on replacing all ur lines, cause its not meant to handle over 5 psi in fuel pressure.....and from what ive heard its cheaper in the long run to do an engine swap with the d15's if ur looking to get into serious power, those things only had 60hp to start off with
seriously, don't, use this as a "beater"car, as in drive it as you build or save for a better one, why invest so much money, EVEN GRADUALLY when you can get a newer 93-95 hatchback, or "bubble", or crx and have so many more options in the world as far as suspension, and tuning, if you insist on tuning a Honda? just an opinion based on logic of the vehicle you have vs. the vehicle you want it to be....and the concept of MAINTENANCE during the life of the car.....87's were not even considered for speed, or strength, so why kill the suspension, the body, just everything about the idea, says no to me.....sorry to be negative, I am usually positive, and encourage people, but think for a minute of every single part being changed, then rust and the body being destroyed...

i wouldnt mind doining extra work i just want something noone else around where live has. way to many people here have hatchbacks and crxs and there type R's. i want to be different , i like being unique. im not even going to make it look like it has power, yeah ill get some nice rims but nothing that say ''hey im built for speed'' im going for a sleeper, the car you wouldnt think has anything you know?
The cheapest, and best way to get your car up to 200 bhp is to sell it and purchase another car. Lost cause, Bro! Sure, it could be done... but you'd spend around the price of a 2012 Accord new off the showroom floor to do it!
swap a jdm b18c1 in. then small bolt-ons. that engine runs at almost 200 hp
mperrenoud answered 12 years ago
Well if ur like me if ya gotta have that body style then as Keith said B18c is good for about 190 hp. For a good JDM swap w/ 50k on the drive train it's around 3k-4k depending on what is included aand u want as much of the wiring harness, LSD, axles, ECU, ect. to make it as hassle free as possible.
K20! That's easy $10K just in parts! Labor likely $5-10K....

why care so much about making your car faster? its just a car. unless your building it up to do touring car racing and taking it off the road then there is no point. just accept it for what it is. anyone moding there car in any way is a tool that wants to look cool and has people look at them, they are usless uninspiring and not very unique the car dosnt make the person any cooler and having fast cars does not make you a good driver. do something with your life give people a reason to look at you and not your car. Modders are the same as Harley riders big egos with nothing to back it up so they have to have something loud flashy and obnoxious to get people to notice them
