Getting Blazer started after replacing bad fuel pump

Replace the fuel pump on a 99 Blazer it will turn
over and turn over but will not start it will fire if you
squirt a little starting fluid in it do you have to
prime it

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. When you first turn on the key, no crank, can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds? Note the diagram. Any applicable trouble codes? I don't know what testing you have done? See the fuel pump relay, pull the relay, Use a jumper wire between cavities 3 and 5, note the diagram, Terminal 3, hot all the time and fuse protected, you may need to check that fuse. If the fuel pump runs with the jumper, you need to check control side of relay, the control side is right side of relay in diagram. The control side needs voltage and ground. At the fuel pump motor, the gray wire is voltage and black wire is ground, need both. It appears you have spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. Fuel pressure, key on engine off, 60--66 psi.
