Buy the proper strut either from Toyota or an aftermarket strut manufacturer. Struts are crucial in not only ride handling but also braking. If the strut is broken it is an easy replacement at $40-50 for the part plus labor.

Buy the full strut from Monroe, I tried the Chinese brand, they only last a little while and were not so great for the price. I think Monroe was $20 more each spring and all. Do it right the first time, better ride for sure.
