Crazy in the head or Not

Asked by GuruRMBT May 09, 2017 at 02:34 AM about the 1989 Toyota Supra 2 dr Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have fallen in love with SUPRA. All I can afford today is around $11,000, so 1993 and above are out. I am going on 79, so this is my "bucket list" car -- Corvette, Porsche, etc are don't get a second look
-
I am not a high performance addict. Simple 6 cylinder with 200 hp would be fine
-
My requirements are
- Removable top
- Previous Owner(s) gave it the care it should have
- Will drive it 5,000/ year
- Plan on spending $1,000 per year on average
- 1988-1992
- At the end,the car will double as my casket
-
What do  you think?  - HONEST!

Joe, get a Corvette, much more fun and most repair parts are available.

Supras are cool so shop around for a clean, low mile used one. Maybe you will get lucky.

One thing - as far as I know there was never a Supra convertible. If you look on Hemming's there is a clean 18k mile 1982 Supra for 12k.
