After changing battery in my BMW x5 2004 car I went to start car. It immediately started and then shut down withing a couple of seconds. HELP!!! PLEASE!!! How do I get it to start?

I had that problem first. Then I tightened the connection. It started once for several seconds but immediately shut down. When I tried to start it again it wants to start but will not turnover

Yes I have the right kind of gas Everything else is good. I agree and with most cars I have no problem. With the BMW though it is a hole new world :( I think it is the anti theft system. I don't know how to turn it off because my key does not work and I didn't want to buy a new key for $225 from BMW. It is a used car that I bought for my daughter
