bluetooth pairing

I have bmw x5 2004 and radio cd (no
navigation display). I cant pairing my
phone. when phone bluetooth on the
phone searched BMW and 5 number
appear on my phone. But it cant pairing
without asking passcode. Can anyone help
me

I was able to to put names and numbers in but when I go to use it, the voice message says not functioning. How do I make it to function. I purchased a used 2005 X5

I don't have the bluetooth pairing button in the center console, only on steering wheel. Does that mean it isn't compatible?
