2004 BMW X5 3.0i my steering is making a groaning noise So I checked
steering fluid looks low Went to auto zone they gave me CHF 11 which is
power steering fluid but my cap says Atf . I'm not sure on what kind to use
.I've been given several different answers n three different places sold me
three different kinds.  What would be the best recommendation I have Castrol
ATF  import for Honda doesn't mention bmw and is Dex  / mecron , which
autozone said they didn't recommend and gave me dextrin 6 for GM cars,  
also have auto tech synthetic blend  multi vehicle AtF which one would be
best

Your car calls for CHF 11s. They gave u the correct ine. I was reading up on it and it says Bmw has been using the same power sterring reservoir since mid 80's and placed a bmw sticker over the ATF label, it must've cane off
