How to ship a car to another state

Have the buyer pay a car shipping company. Are they asking you to ship it to them and then they will pay?

Sounds fishy. The buyer is always paying first then deals with shipping on their own after all funds have cleared. There are some bad/fake checks/money orders to stay clear of as they get cleared then the bank comes after you instead of the person giving you the check as there is no way for them to find them so your left on the hook. I think if they want it the will bring you cash and leave with it.

I think I read a warning put out on craigslist for those selling on the site to read up on, may be worth looking up some info on the latest tactics being used before listing.
Ok, well the buyer said that he may need help with the shipping. He has never done a purchase like this before and I have never sold a vehicle online before. Thanks a lot for the answers and concern guys. Now I know that the buyer is responsible for the shipping.

And your responsibility to lay down the terms, as in cash only in hand, if they have a check they can cash it.

One tactic is they send you a check greater than the amount they owe you and either want the rest back from you cash or have you pay the rest to the shipper which is on of their gang.
