Is getting the head gaskets done on a 1996 VDub Golf GL worth it? Or will the car continue to fall apart?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey Guys so on my Golf GL non turbo I just replaced the thermostat, control on the fans
and my water pump. I just found out that my heads are gone, granted this is the only thing
Ive had to do on the daily, but I want to know if its worth the money to get it done. I want
to make sure its not going to just fall apart after this. This is my DAILY while my Eclipse
GSX is getting finished so its important that I get this information correct. Thank so much

Js08016 obviously doesn't love Volkswagens. ANY 18 year old car needs consistent maintenance attention. With older VWs, if you aren't mechanically inclined and dedicated, repairs will be expensive. If this is the situation, I recommend you get a Camry...and off this list.
