Automatic gearbox, third gear shift with a thump.

This is the second gearbox in the car with the same problem. It change from 1
to 4 smooth, except from 2 to 3, where the revs has to reach more then the
usual and then it change with a thump. The oil and filter were changed and
the valve body cleaned. What could be the problem?
