How do I improve my gas mileage in the city with my 2005 TDI Golf?

Try to keep your rpm reading below 3000 rpms while driving at higher speeds. I've done it with my car and it seems to help. Good luck

very light on the throttle, shift early, keep in a low rpm at cruise, and use the cruise control as much as possible. Also, try using road friction to slow down. Push the clutch early and let the car slow down on its own if you know you're coming up to a stop soon. Every time you hit the brakes, you're turning your hard earned cash into rotor heat.
