Engine running lumpy

Had previously overfilled oil, reduced oil level then ranthe car for about 30miles... Engine
started to feel lumpy, managed to limp home lifted the bonnet to hear a hissing noise!
Sounds like something serious? Can anyone help?

sounds like a bad rad hose or broken vacuum line. Is this a golf by any chance? if it is i would suggest having the coolant hoses all checked for cracking. The golfs have a really bad tendency to blow the lower 4 line/ 3 line hose connecters.
