Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 Chevy Surburban will occasionally not start. I wait 10 minutes and it starts.  Happens every 2 weeks or so.  Any thoughts?  It is like it is flooded.  Starts every time after I wait about 10 minutes.  I can detect no pattern.  Happens first crank of the day sometimes, other times in middle of day after been driving for miles on interstate.  Gas tank can be full or near empty.  No discernible pattern.

Egr valve sticking open can cause this type of no start issue.

When was the last time you changed any gas line filters? for a 1999 vehicle, you may have an accumulation of your past adventures stored inside the gas tank and has plugged the filters. Also if you can, have the gas tank checked for anything that may block the gas line feeding from the gas tank. After starting, is there any problems with the vehicle running? It sounds like a "possible" gas starvation problem. Do you have an electric fuel pump? If so it may take a while to refill the reservoir for the fuel to get to the injectors. I'd start looking for leaks or lose connections from ther up and if there is a fuel filter in line, change it also.
