What causes water to go in transmission on my 1999 Chevy suburban

If you had driven it threw a river water could get in threw the vent tube.
Oh, A bad radiator. There is a transmission cooler inside the radiator that could be leaking. It would be coolant getting into the transmission. You would not want to be driving the vehicle, the transmission in this case would need to be flushed out. I don't would normally not recommend a trany flush, but in this case, it may need to be done. IF you ben driving the vehicle with this condition for very long, it is just a matter of time for the transmission to start giving you some problems.
