Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i was driving my jetta the other day and i came to stop light then next thing you know
my car just dies on me it didn't want to start. fortunately i was by an auto part store
and i had my battery checked and i had a bad battery. i changed out my battery
started the car and it still didn't start . so i had a friend start the car while i observed
what was going on and i discovered that on the throttle body there is a bronze
connector that connects one end to the throttle body and that just came out and when i
looked at it there was no o-ring or nothing so what would that little bronze connector be
called

yes the tps is still OK and no its not the accelerator cable . when i look at it its just a vacuum line straight through the throttle body. on the picture i posted there is a black vacuum line connected on the bronze post. it literally looks like a black pressure hose

The bronze part it actually is a vacuum connector. It doesnt have a name it is just that. A vacuum. If it gets disconnected you won't be able to start since you will have a very large leak and if it does start you will have an erratic idle or very high rpm's.
