Assuming fluids are clean and topped off, Check the ball fork or pivot pin. Does it grind? Lotza miles on this clutch?

My Jetta's clutch takes extremely high when released. Does a 2006 Jetta MK5 have a clutch cable or a hydraulic system? Can either be adjusted or bled to have the clutch take lower?
