transmission problems

i bought my  jetta in october of 08 and now in january of 09 my transmission is acting up i took it in one time and the
dealer said that a sensor was unplugged it was fine for about a month and as i was driving home from work it shifted
from overdrive to 3rd gear and wont shift back into OD and it has a hard time shifting from 2nd to 3rd (at 4000 rpm
way above where it should be shifting obviously) now its doing the same thing and i took it in but the dealer said that
the sensor was plugged in this time. does anyone know whats going on or what i can do to fix this problem? its hell on
my fuel mileage!
