Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How difficult or is it even possible to swap a 5.7 chevy 350 from a 1992
suburban to a 1999 5.7 chevy suburban?

Yes it's possible but alot of plugs will be different so not everything will function properly, unless you swap parts over from the old engine to the new engine.

The 92' engine is a TBI set-up run with an OBD1 pcm, and the 99' set-up is a Vortec engine which is totally different set-up run by an OBDII pcm. If you were to take the 92' engine & transmission along with the OBD1 computer and switch out into the 99' then you could.

Look for a 1996 5.7L and on up for the swap. Save a lot of headaches...
