I've a 2000 Jetta,  I recently changed the alternator
, for some reason the battery won't hold a charge
and I have to get a jump , the battery is almost new  
and I've checked, double checked the alternator is
hooked up correct , could it be the alarm as I've
had problems with it going off when I put the key in
the ignition , thanks

it may just be the battery terminals, i thought i had a bad battery bought a new one kept running into the issue of thinking i needed a jump got the starter and alternator test both good it wasn't til i made the mistake of nudging the positive terminal with the key still in the on position that i learned that was my problem car started right u afterwards
