2002 tdi jetta.....the gauges stopped working ....so I disconnected the battery to see if it
would reset itself......connected the battery and went to start the car it turned over and ran
for a couple seconds then quit......bought a new ignition switch thinking that was the
problem .....still won't work...what now

Replace your VSS. Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Does the car have a key with a chip and an anti theft system?

this car is equipped with a key transponder for security, is the key light flashing?? if it is try with another key. The module for the key is inside the panel maybe the panel is damaged or you need to program it. you will need the code for the key and a proper equipment like VAG- com

2002 tdi jetta.....the gauges stopped working ....so I disconnected the battery to see if it would reset itself......connected the battery and went to start the car it turned over and ran for a coup...

ive found ways to reset immobolizer on my 02 VW Jetta,they say,hook up battery charger and leave key in but dont try and start for 10 mins to an hour ,but my immobolizer light doesnt cothe only light that comes on is the battery light so what do i do to reset mu immoblizer? do the same process?
