99 Chevy suburban won't start, pull #3 cylinder wire and she fires up

Asked by Tony Jun 25, 2023 at 11:02 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 99Chevy Suburban with 5.7 started running rough then died and wouldn't
start. Mechanic friend looks at her and says fuel pump. So replace fuel pump,
fuel filter and fuel relay along with update wiring. She won't start, clean cap and
rotor check timing added 7gallons of fuel still won't start. Pull the #3 plug wire
and truck starts on first pull. Put plug wire back on and won't start. What's this
mean and what do I do?

Replace distributor cap. The will cross fire internally.
