Road trip in 2002 VW Jetta?

Hello!
I have a 2002 VW Jetta with 94,000 miles on it, and I'm  planning to go on a long cross-country road trip this summer. Based on past road road trips (with the same car), I estimate that I'll be driving 5,000-7,000 miles in all. But I'm worried about whether my car can handle the trip at its age. I've recently had the car serviced and examined at a dealership (they replaced the spark-plugs and ignition coil), and it doesn't have any specific problems of which I am aware. But in general I haven't been rigorous in servicing the car over the years (I haven't always changed the oil and had the car checked every 3,000 miles, for example) and I wonder whether it is still safe for long-distance driving at 94,000 miles. If it was your car, would you be willing to take a 2002 VW at 94,000 miles on a cross-country road trip? Or would you recommend cancelling the trip?

If mine I would pack my bags and have a great time. Just make sure to check all your fluids and make sure that your oil changes are current. Also make sure that your tires are in good shape. Pack and enjoy your trip.

under 100,000 miles is just getting broken in- have it checked thoroughly, fluids changed, and get a AAA membership- ANY car can break, even a brand new one- so don't worry, be happy

My dear friend not to worry you but I hope you have done your timing belt and water pump. I wouldnt take the car on the trip with out it. Also be good to check your serpentine belt, TIRES and trans fluid. If thats all good ENJOY YOURSELF
