Why does my 2004 Jetta shake when I put the pedal to the ground?

Asked by Danielruiz0828 Apr 05, 2014 at 09:33 PM about the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 1.8T Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car only does this when I step on
the gas really hard. When I drive
normal it drives fine but once
someone pulls up next to me and
tries to show off I gun it and my car
begins to shake as if it wants to shift
but it can't since it's already in 5th
gear (automatic). What could be the
problem? Maybe the fuel pump or
filter? Transmission filter?
Thanks in advance:)
