I can start and run the car with the driver side door open, bt when I close the door the engine stops. Cannot start the engine with the door closed.

Can't start or run the engine with doors closed. Can start with driver side door
open, but the engine shuts down when the the door is closed.

I think you have a wire that is pinched and when you close the door it creates a short in the system. Check the wires and see. Good luck!

If rather than close the door, the door switch is depressed while door is open, the engine stops.
