The abs light is telling you that it's got a fault code in its system. You need to scan the car's abs system. The proper scan tool like vagcom will tell which component is causing a problem, even which particular wheel sensor if that's the issue.

its mostly likely a bad wheel bearing and sensor Most speed related issues are with most makes of cars. Have the car scaned at a vw/audi specialist shop since they should have vagcom scanning software to scan your car. if they dont move on to the next shop.

Deathjam4 you have a good point about the wheel bearing play causing an abs sensor failure. I'd forgotten about that.

1998 beetle. Went for oil change. As soon as they completed it my check engine light came on. They checked code, was some emmissions code. Okay so the light goes out 2 days later. A few days later the car wont start, like it is out of gas, it's turning but not catching. I let it sit for 1/2 hr then it starts and the engine light back on. Everything fine for a few days then the same thing happens out of the blue. Just happened again to me. Car was fine, no light on then i go somewhere, park it, get back in and it wont start like its out of gas...let it sit for half hour and then it starts like nothing was wrong and the engine light back on now.
