Volkswagon Beetle Makes Noise when Starting

Asked by Cg1254 Jan 09, 2020 at 12:41 PM about the 2003 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Turbo S 2003 beetle makes a whirring type of sound when I start it (about
right before I switch to drive). What could be causing it? I've also been having
trouble with the front left tire leaking -- in case the two are connected. Thank
you!

Probably not, The whirring sound could be the secondary air pump, or a noisy pulley that runs off the serpentine belt.
