Park the car in a indoor, underground parking lot so it can heat up.

tennisshoes, You are the best. How do I let people know how fab. you are. I'm not kidding, I called every place I could think of to find a way around that expensive dealer visit. By the way, it took me longer to find a screwdriver than it did to find that plug. And it works great. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Thank you for the info because this same thing happened to me and we had gotten some real bad snow and freeze weather and this happened. I had told my husband to disconnect the wire to it. So now I can confirm it

This happened to my 2003 Beetle took it to the dealer and they wanted $3000 to fix and then they said they can’t find a part no where in the country.
