Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my timing belt snapped. I found a mechanic
who works from home, I trust that He is
good but he is running into huge problems.
He had the timing belt replaced when he
started it it sounded bad so he took it off to
realign it and now it will not fire. he has
tried everything. he swears he had it
perfectly at TDC but still can't get it to fire. I
am a student and cannot afford to take it to
a shop. Do you have any advice for him?
Please help I'm desperate by the way I
bought the kit that included water pump

Thanks for sharing. So he note has the head apart checking for damaged valves. It is an interference motor. So are you saying replacing the valves won't fix it?

Rebuilding the head should have this car up and running finevagain, if the car is in otherwise good shape I would think it's worthwhile to repair.
