The EPC dashboard light stands for Electronic Power Control, indicating a potential engine malfunction. Means a sensor is indicating a problem, Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down. This is a SIMPLE procedure!

I have a 2015 Wolfsburg Edition Passat, 64K miles. EPC light came on while driving on the freeway and the engine lost power, though the car still started after I turned it off. I had it towed to the dealership and after they scanned it, found the rear main seal needed to be replaced ($1300) and the transmission needed to be serviced ($400).
I have a 2015 Wolfsburg Edition Passat 1.8t, 74K miles. EPC light comes on and it lose power also. No one want to touch it even the dealership. They keep telling me nothing is wrong. But then sells me the wrong part for different thing. South Point in Baton Rouge, La. is a rip off.
Do you think by EPC light indicator would have anything to do with an impact from another car at my front bumper a day before Could have triggered that light to come on?

Sure a crash or impact can do a lot to electronics and hard parts.
While doing some research on YOUTUBE of all places. I found that it usually has to do with a couple of things. First it could be the Mass Air flow Sensor. Second it could be related to The Throttle body being dirty or sticking. Third, It says it could be a computer issue and the ECU needs to be replaced. I am going to pull the throttle body and clean it first since this is the cheapest option, next is the MAF. We shall see.....
I have spent over $3k so far on the EPC light issue and still problem is there. I changed the throttle body, installed a new pedal assembly and took it to couple mechanics. It get fixed for a day or two and it gets back again. I am really tired of spending so much money on this. From a lot of research online, i realized this is a main issue with VW cars. Gonna get rid of this car and will never again buy a car from volkswagon.
