Where are the motor mounts and how to reach them????

Asked by BryanD777 Feb 22, 2017 at 10:15 AM about the 2006 Volkswagen Passat 3.6L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car acts like it's a massage chair when I accelerate.
I read it might be the motor mounts, so how the
heck do I get to them? This is my first DIY project
so intricate instructions would be appreciated.

The motor mounts its what hold your motor and keeps it in place , making it smooth. If you see it moving all over it is the mounts , depends what vehicle it is you should be able to see them as they hold the engine in place and have rubber inside , if that rubber its cracked or broken most likely it is the motor mounts.... you should be able to see them , Volkswagen Passat 1.8L Engine Motor :EMT8997 - Front Left Engine Mount EMT8998 - Front Right Engine Mount EMT8999 - Transmission Left or Right Mount EMT8999 - Transmission Left or Right Mount
