Out of state sale

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am wary of selling my car to an out of state (California) party being that I
am located in PA.   Once I agree to sale and ship the car to buyer, what
prevents him from saying that the car is not what he expected (since he only
has seen pictures, not in person) and refusing to complete the sale at the
agreed on price?  My car is now in California and am being asked to reduce
the price below what I want to sell it at.  What recourse do I have.

Tough situation. Your only recourse at this point (aside from negotiating a revised price) is to have the car returned to you. Next time, before shipping the car, have a written agreement that affirms the price and spells out the details regarding returns and misrepresentations. In short, get an attorney to draft a contract for you that you can apply to any future sales. In any case, act quickly to insure you either get paid or get the car back before something happens to it.

I personally would not ship a car. Don't do it! Sell to someone local.
