I want to keep my daytime lights off while I'm

some chevys have a dome over ride button on the headlight switch, if it does try to push it 3 to 5 times. that should over ride the day time running lights

The only way to do this is to press the parking brake pedal down just enough to make the red brake warning light on the instrument cluster come on before you start the vehicle. The daytime running lights will not come on and the parking brake shouldn't be engaged. Only trouble is you'll have to look at the red brake warning light! Hope that helps! Jim
