Starting and high idle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just purchased 1998 Blazer, 4.3l Vortech. No leaks
shifts good and engine sounds good.

PROBLEM: after sitting off for more than several
hours the engine will not turn over with. Small shot
of ether. Then it turns over fine and runs good.

PROBLEM: Engine idles high, about 2000-2300
RPM.

Person I purchased from states the coolant sensor
is bad (unplugged now) and the air flow sensors are
also unplugged.

SEEKING: solution to start problem and solution to
high idle

the sensors need to be hooked up , scan for codes and take care of the problems , you can't cobb these things together with a computer running the system .

Ok. I'll replace the coolant sensor and plug in the air flow sensors and see what codes I am getting. I'll do that, this weekend and report back my findings.

yeah , get it to idle , one thing at a time , there's no telling what other people have done . For some reason the fuel pump ain't priming , could be the ECM not getting proper signals with things being unplugged , who knows .
