can a newer blazer transmission work in a 1998 blazer?

Got a 1998 chev blazer that needs a transmission replaced, only one available is a
2003 chev blazer transmission, will it interchange and work?

the should bolt ou make sure the tail housing shafts are the same 32 spline and the mesurements might be different seal to center on the rear drive shaft and flange to center front
