If I wanted to have a stronger transmission, should I put a shift kit in my 4l60e or just buy a stronger transmission and swap it out?

have you been having problems with Weakness of the drive train?...not quite sure how this will be useful to you that the original transmission LOAD duty should not be capable of....already~....in short, you are not being realistic...you ain't towin' nothin'....racing? you need it for the track?.....just not getting your concerns Landon....how is this one lettin' you down.?

The 4l60e you have will handle 360 ftlbs torque..if that's not enough for whatever engine you have then t'shoes has a good one, rated 800 ft lbs torque but is designed for trucks and the Hummer (NOT saying t'shoes is wrong, the dude knows his shit) or for less money a 4l65e will take 380 ft lbs. But must add the Judge has a point: You really need a 'stronger' one? Well, it's your money to spend as you so desire

You're a youngster...you love the manual transmission...you have not spent HOURS in LA traffic....eventually you'll want an automatic....it just happens with us olde folx~

his 4l60e IS an automatic. you might be able to put a built turbo 350 or turbo 400 trans in it. best place to get a definitive answer and not be judged for doing what you want with your own car is to look for a Camaro forum and search there.
