Bad Motor Mount.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2006 Mazda 3, just recently I had the automatic transmission rebuilt, and after I
got my car back I noticed some vibrations/rattling which had no happened before. I took it
back to the mechanic and he said that what it appears to be is bad motor mounts. The
car has been in 3 accidents throughout its life, 2 with me and one prior to my ownership.
My questions are: What could have caused the motor mounts to go bad (could it have
been something that the mechanic did seeing as there were no problems present previous
to the transmission repair), and What could happen to the car if I chose not to have the
mounts replaced.

don't do it...control linkages will be misaligned...it is already a disaster...Don' be lazy, you only need a floorjack, block of wood and a socket wrench (probably 13mm)~puhleeze mister~

We just bought a 2006 Mazda 3 and in all the used cars we considered buying we asked to dealer for their after purchase repair sheet to see what they did to prepare the car for retail market......all the cars (6) in total had motor mounts relpaced........ There are three and on 4 of the cars the center one was replaced and the other two one left one right.......it seems to be a problem on this year
