Hold on. before you rip your heads off, its variable tumble shutter valve. The variable tumble control system (VTCS) was created to help emissions at low RPMs. The valve closes part of the intake path, increasing the velocity of the intake charge. Research this first
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors mass the variable tumble shutter valve using the variable tumble position sensor. If the PCM turn the variable tumble solenoid valve ON but the variable tumble position still remain open (the variable tumble position sensor OFF), the PCM determines that the variable tumble shutter valve has been stuck open. Throws P2004 DTC Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p2004_mazda.html#ixzz3azNvURpQ It not an intake/exhaust head valve
Thanks man, that helps a bunch, I really appreciate it.
With engine cold, tumble shutter valve closes to increase combustion efficiency, emissions. Then it opens up again when the engine's warmed and below 3750 RPM. After it reaches that RPM and the coolant is 145° it closes again increasing power because of the intake air speed creating that tumble
You're welcome, I had a vague idea only about this, something lit up in the back of my head but I had to go looking for what it really is. Hope I saved you some time and money
