solenoid

Asked by GuruLRHH3 Apr 23, 2019 at 03:40 AM about the 1996 Mazda MX-5 Miata Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On turning the ignition key the main 80amp fuse blows. Then nothing lights up. Change the fuse and all the dash lights come on but the fuse blows as soon as the key is turned. Is it a solenoid or starter motor fault. Any help would be appreciated.

A wire is grounding out this is what a multi meter and test equipment is for don't guess its a starter or other component test it or have it tested.
