My check engine light turned on recently. I know sometimes the light will come on to remind you of oil changes etc. How do I find the true reason without going to the dealer? Is there a reset button ?

Auto Zone and Oreillys will scan your OBD for free. Light must be on for any codes to show. Disconnect the negative battery cable, that will reset your light.
