okay, you must check the transmission fluid or have it checked by a shop...then do not worry about the Enhanced Traction Service light when you apply the handbrake...the computer is like "I can't control this wheel" and panics and puts the light up...it's totally normal...alright?~

if the fluid is leaking is most likely the butyl rubber connections from transmission to radiator...check with a Kleenex up and down the length of the joint...replace these hoses with high quality silicone if replacement of them is necessary~
A 1998 was not worth puting a tranny in on that car Sorry. Had one with 66000miles on it after kid had it and put about 70000 more miles on in it in about 6 mounths I said the hell with it. I could buy a nother used car cheaper

In 2009 I bought a 1999 Cavalier with manual shift. It is a very dependable vehicle. To this day I'm still driving it. Just take care of it, It will take care of you. Oh yeah, I think all small cars should have manual shift.
