Overheating

Asked by Jesse Jan 15, 2018 at 02:16 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Express G1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Overheating still  after i changed heater  core valve
and thermostat  and bottom radiator hose    is
frozen

1 Answer

If the hose is frozen your anti-freeze mixture is wrong for your area. A frozen hose will prevent the water from circulating and if the engine freezes you may crack the block. I would use a heater to thaw things out and then install the correct coolant for your temperature range.
